BUY OR BID PROCEDURES &
CONDITIONS OF SALE

1

Each Buy or Bid list has a list number and a closing date shown in the header at the top.

2

If you are interested in a lot, click its checkbox in the "Buy/Bid" column. After you have made your selections, click the “Submit Buys & Bids...” button at the page bottom. You may then choose either to place a maximum bid, or to buy the lot. You may bid the minimum if you wish, or if you are willing to bid above the minimum in order to raise competing bids, bid the maximum you are willing to pay; we will buy the lot for you as cheaply as competing bids permit. If you wish to buy a lot outright, click on the BUY icon. The first Buy bid received wins the lot, which is then removed from the list. All lots thus are subject to prior sale.

3

Catalogue values for Canada and Provinces are taken from the current Unitrade Specialized Catalogue of Canadian Stamps. Values for Commonwealth and Foreign, unless otherwise stated, are taken from the current Scott Standard Postage Stamp Catalogue and are quoted in $US. Canada revenue values are taken from the latest Van Dam catalogue. (SG: Stanley Gibbons; Mic: Michel; C:Ceres, Sass: Sassonne).

4

Unless otherwise indicated all currency amounts are in CANADIAN DOLLARS.

5

You may also bid by mail, fax, telephone, e-mail or in person. Bids should conform to the increments shown below. Bids which do not conform will be appropriately reduced. In the case of tie bids, preference will be given to the first received. Bids below the Minimum Bid will not be entered.

6

There is no Buyer's Premium. Where applicable, B.C. Provincial Sales Tax and GST will be charged.

7

The web site displays three weeks of Buy or Bid lists. If you have a number of successful weekly bids, absentee bids will be settled on a monthly basis. If you bid only on items in one particular week and are successful settlement will be made that week. You may bid on all lists at once.

8

No lot will be delivered unless paid for in full. Local customers can pick up their lots after the board closes, or at our office between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. during regular office hours thereafter. For lots that are to be mailed, the buyer will be charged mailing costs (minimum $1.00). Large or heavy lots are sent the most economical way (usually parcel post) unless we are instructed otherwise.

9

Payment is acceptable by cash, personal cheque, VISA, or MASTERCARD. IN ORDER THAT WE MAY MAIL LOTS AS QUICKLY AND EFFICIENTLY AS POSSIBLE, WE ASK THAT ALL ABSENTEE BIDDERS WHO ARE NOT ABLE TO PICK THEIR LOTS UP IN PERSON PROVIDE EITHER A CREDIT CARD NUMBER OR A SUFFICIENT CASH DEPOSIT AT THE TIME OF BIDDING, SO THAT AFTER THE AUCTION, LOTS CAN BE PAID FOR AND MAILED WITHOUT THE TIME CONSUMING PROCESS OF PRELIMINARY INVOICING.

10

Lots found to be not as described may be returned within one week of receipt for a full refund, except as indicated below.

11
Large lots are not returnable without prior permission. "As is" lots are not returnable.

Please refer to the Scott or Unitrade Introductions for more detailed explanation of grading terminology and standards.

Note: with reference to centring, "VF" means balanced but not necessarily perfect centring. (Perfect = XF or Superb) When applied to sets or groups of stamps, grading terms refer to the general over-all appearance and condition of the set or group, and do not guarantee that all stamps are of that grade. Significant variations from such a general grading will be noted. Scott catalogues are available at most libraries; if you are not close to a library check lots 61 to 66 in the Buy or Bid list as older copies are often listed. A five or six year old set has over 95% of all stamps listed and although the prices may not be up to date it can be a valuble reference at a fraction of original cost.

The placing of a buy or bid shall indicate acceptance of these conditions of sale.
